The Delhi government has published a Gazette notification outlining several restrictions that will be in effect during the G20 Summit. These restrictions are intended to ensure smooth operations and increased security during the international event.
The entire New Delhi District will be designated “Controlled Zone 1.” This will be in effect from September 8–10 at 5 a.m.
Certain vehicles will be prohibited from using key roads such as Mathura Road (beyond Ashram Chowk), Bhairon Road, Purana Quila Road, and the Pragati Maidan Tunnel. This begins tonight and will last until Sunday.
Goods vehicles, commercial vehicles, interstate buses, and local city buses are prohibited from using the above-mentioned roads.

However, there are some exceptions. Goods vehicles transporting necessities such as milk, vegetables, fruits, and medical supplies will be permitted. These vehicles must have valid “No Entry Permissions”.
Bonafide residents and authorized vehicles will be permitted to travel freely. Emergency vehicles and passengers travelling to airports or railway stations are also exempt.
Taxis and TSRs will not be permitted to enter or operate within the New Delhi District. This restriction is in effect from September 9th–10th at 5 a.m.
Commercial vehicles and buses that are already in Delhi may use the Ring Road and the road network beyond it to reach the city’s borders.

India is preparing to host the G20 Summit in New Delhi from September 9 to 10, with world leaders expected to attend. The summit will be held at the state-of-the-art Bharat Mandapam Convention Center in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Several international leaders, including US President Joe Biden, are expected to attend.
