The Delhi Traffic Police has issued advisories regarding the routes that commuters should take and stay away from on Friday as the G-20 summit gets underway. These advisories have been issued to ensure easy traffic flow and reduce any disruptions caused by the summit.
As numerous world leaders and delegates arrive in Delhi for the G-20 summit, heavy traffic congestion and road closures are expected. The Delhi Traffic Police has meticulously planned alternate routes and diversions to ease the movement of commuters and avoid significant traffic jams.
The Delhi Traffic Police have stated that non-destined traffic and unauthorised vehicles will not be permitted to enter the New Delhi District. “However, movement of medical emergency vehicles will be facilitated throughout Delhi,” said police.

The police added that controlled zone 1 has been implemented, and as a result, buses will operate only on Ring Road and the road network beyond Ring Road, up to and including Delhi’s borders.
“The movement of buses into Delhi from Rajokari border has been stopped with effect from September 8 till September 10…interstate buses are being allowed to enter from other borders of Delhi,” they said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, cross-border entry of goods vehicles into Delhi has been halted as of 9 p.m. on Thursday. “Only vehicles carrying Essential Commodities such as milk, vegetables, fruits, medical supplies, etc. will be allowed to enter into Delhi,” they said.
Additionally, traffic police have established a virtual G-20 online desk specifically for traffic-related questions for the event and have instructed commuters to use it in the event of any complaints.
